Event: Budgets, Bricks, Bytes, Barrels & Beta

To mark the recent expansion of our Melbourne office, we were delighted to host some of our valued clients for a timely panel discussion on the topic of real estate in the age of disruption.

Between the rise of artificial intelligence and recent budget announcements into changes to the taxation of real estate and capital in Australia, it is a topic front of mind for both seasoned and novice property investors alike.

Many thanks to our excellent panellists, David Roberts (Head of Real Estate Strategy, Macquarie Asset Management), Scott Keck (Executive Chairman, Charter Keck Cramer and IDA Advisory Council Member) Professor The Hon Greg Hunt (IDA Advisory Council Member) for their valuable insights. We are privileged to have access to some of the most capable minds in the country on these subjects and were delighted to be able to bring our clients into the conversation.

Whilst many topics were touched on, one theme emerged; cycles will come and go, some more volatile and some more benign. But one thing remains a constant: Australian real estate remains a fertile source of compelling investment opportunity, buttressed by a structural undersupply in housing and emergent demand for powered and watered land supply. In how one seeks access to those opportunities, the importance of manager selection has never been greater.
